Our Driving Course

Georgia Driving Coach and the Course is licensed by the State of Georgia
- Visit www.dds.ga.gov for State Approved Driver Training Schools, or to find more information about Georgia State Driving Laws and how they pertain to your teen.

We are Exclusive to New Teen Drivers
-Parent's need not to worry about their child in the same building as a potential driving offender, taking a court appointed course.

Required Parent Orientation
-Parents are required to attend the first 35 minutes of the first day, as we will educate them about the driving distractions that teens face today, the TADRA laws, and the Joshua Brown story (Joshua's Law). We also hand out the Parent/Teen Driving Guides that will serve as the checklist and log for items to cover with your teen while driving behind the wheel.

30 hour course uses the AAA Responsible Driving Curriculum

Who we are

Bruce is a native Georgian from Stone Mountain and currently resides in Cumming, Ga. with his wife and their 3 children. Karr Family Picture

Bruce kept hearing story after news story about Georgia teens throughout Georgia and especially in Forsyth, lose their life while behind the wheel.

Bruce created Georgia Driving Coach in 2007 in hopes to curb teen driving crashes and deaths by creating awareness of the deadly consequences and new distractions that come along with teen driving.

Gerald Payton-Instructor

Gerald Payton, also a native Georgian was born in Rome, Georgia and also currently resides in Forsyth County with his wife, 2 children and just welcomed his 1st grandchild. Most know Gerald as “Coach” Payton as he coached Driver’s Education, Basketball and Football in the Georgia Public School System for over 25 years. His most recent venture was North Forsyth High School as the Driver’s Education Instructor as well as the Head JV Football Coach. Coach Payton shares the passion for keeping our young drivers safe and alive while they learn how to drive.

Lana Thomas-Training Coordinator

Lana is a native of Dunwoody,Georgia and is married to Keith. They have 4 children and Lana's oldest is at driving age and like every parent is trying to find the strength to hand over the keys!

Our Mission

Georgia Driving Coach believes that driver education is one of the most important courses one can ever take. Learning and obeying the rules of the road, executing defensive driving techniques, being patient/courteous drivers, and limiting distractions can make the difference between life and death. Therefore, we at Georgia Driving Coach take our role as educators very seriously, and place the safety of your teen driver as our primary goal.
