Course Descriptions

30 hour Joshua's Law Classroom Course

This 30 hour course is licensed by the State and will  satisfy the classroom instruction requirement of “Joshua’s Law”. After completing all course standards of the 30 hour class, each student will be provided with the mandatory certificate in order to obtain a driver's license at age 16.

Our students tell us that our classroom course is very different from what they expected. We are not the typical “boring” Driver’s Ed class which is focused totally on the DMV manual, but instead is interactive with numerous activities both inside the classroom and outside....including how to change a tire, identifying important engine components and how to jump start a battery.

Behind the Wheel Training Course

Our behind the wheel course also licensed by the State and extremely beneficial for all levels. We know that everyone drives different, learns different and may be at a different level when they start our behind the wheel program.

Therefore, prior to the driving lesson one of our Georgia Driving Coach’s will discuss the students experience level and curtail a plan of how to spend our time driving.

In most cases this time is organized into specific aspects of driving, such as residential, small and large highways with entrances and exits, business districts, rural areas, perpendicular parking, angled parking, turn abouts, parallel parking, reaction test, dicey situations and all other items that will be expected on the State Road Test.

30 hour “Joshua’s Law” Online Course

With our online drivers ed course, you'll learn at your own pace and get everything you need to successfully take drivers ed conveniently online.

Advanced, interactive drivers education modules ensure you stay interested, and help to reinforce material so you remember what you need to be safe on the roads. This course will satisfy the Joshua’s Law requirement for a 16 year old to get a Georgia Drivers License, but will not count for the drivers ed insurance reduction.

This on-line course is not for everyone, and should only be considered if the student cannot make the classroom course.

Alcohol and Drug Awareness Course

ADAP or the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program was passed by the Georgia General Assembly to address the tragic problems caused by the use of alcohol and other drugs on our roads and highways.

Anyone under the age of 18 must complete and pass this 4 hour course before obtaining a class D license to drive in the State of Georgia.

Certificates are issued after successful completion and this course is free of charge to the community.

Developed for pre-permit, permit and licensed drivers; our teen driver education program is a course that combines classroom, and behind the wheel instruction. At Georgia Driving Coach, our goal is to create a no-risk, safe environment that enables teen drivers to experience every situation imaginable.

A Georgia Driving Coach program instructor prepares teens for the road ahead by teaching safe-driving habits and decision-making skills. Throughout the teen driving course, teen drivers will learn basic driving fundamentals, defensive driving techniques and receive assessments based on their reaction times, visual acuity and physical abilities.

In addition, Georgia Driving Coach offers a multitude of resources and support for both parents and teens during the learning process. Its extensive library includes numerous articles, DVDs and videos, books and specialty products.

Teen Driver Courses

Our behind the wheel instruction is designed to meet specific objectives for each drive, however, instructors work with a student at their skill level. If specific objectives are not met they are picked up in the next drive.

An integral part of our behind the wheel program is the student and parent debrief. This allows the instructor to speak with both the student and parent about student progress and areas that still need work.

Georgia Driving Coach also offers the most comprehensive road test available to ensure that new drivers are ready for the challenges of negotiating today's complex driving environments.
